I am writing to you in regards to our experience with Alexander's Mobility Services being responsible for the move of my Renal/Electron Microscopy Laboratory at Vanderbilt. Our laboratory is a very complex operation with multiple pieces of delicate equipment. Your staff was courteous, professional and made everything go extremely smoothly. I was most impressed by their consideration for moving all items carefully, promptly and to the correct location. All items that were packed had been handled beautifully, and not a single item broke during the move. Thank you so very much for being an important part of us being up and ready to take care of patients again the following Monday, December 18.
Sincerely, Agnes Fogo, M.D. Professor of Pathology, Medicine and Pediatrics Director, Division of Renal Pathology/Electron Microscopy
I wanted to formally thank you and your staff for the outstanding job done in moving our Office of Research Grants & Research Contracts offices. I have been involved in numerous intra-institutional moves in the 17 + years I have worked here, but I have never worked with a moving company as organized and as helpful as yours. Above all, we were extremely impressed with the quality of your moving staff. They were careful with our belongings, were polite to everyone involved, and were incredibly gracious and accommodating to helping my staff. Thank you again for the excellent service you and your staff provided-both before and after our move. I am copying David Jones on this email, so that he is aware of the very positive experience we had with your company. David, I would highly recommend Alexander's Mobility Services for any other moves at Vanderbilt.
Thanks again, Connie Stone Chevalier Director, Research Contracts Office of Research Vanderbilt University Medical Center 3319 West End Avenue, Suite 870 Nashville, TN 37203-6917
I have worked with Bill Shears, and his crews from Alexander’s Moving and Storage for some months on the monumental project of planning, preparing for, packing and moving from research laboratories that have occupied the same space for many years into the new quarters in the newly constructed MRB III building and to other university spaces. The Alexander’s staff has been most helpful and cooperative throughout the entire process. They have responded to our questions. They have accommodated our changes of plans, and they have made the process as palatable as possible. Mr. Shears has been sensitive to the individual concerns of the principal investigators affected by this move, and to the concerns of their lab members, while continuing to press toward the goal of completing the move in a timely manner. I would choose to use this company again, and would recommend them to others. Sincerely, Marilyn E. Reel Department of Biological Sciences
When other staff members in the clinic found out we had moving men in the clinic, suddenly, there were several little "add-on" requests. Your crew complied with our requests with skill and the utmost courtesy. Every one was pleased with the "move". You even came back in the afternoon and helped me yourself, when one of our nurses changed her mind about the furniture change she had asked for on the spur of the moment in the morning. Alexander’s is truly an efficient and responsive company. Shay will be coming back to the cubicles and I will be in another office. Two co-workers from across the hall are going to move into the cubicles and their room must be "cleaned out". That can take place late next week so we are going to need your services on two days.

During the summer of 2001 several offices in the Dean’s Office, School of Medicine were involved in a renovation project. This involved the moving of the Office of Special Project and Programs twice in three months. It was successfully carried out with the able assistance of your company. I am grateful for your attention to our needs and professional manner in which the move was conducted.
Best wishes, Janelle Carey Owens Executive Assistance School of Medicine
The team, supervised by Tony Lockhart and Mike Meier, were efficient, thorough, and very capable. They solved every problem that cropped up along the way with aplomb and humor, easing this very stressed lab manager’s fears! In addition, all the attention prior to the move made by job so much easier. I want to thank you for sending such a lovely team of men. They were friendly, full of fun and good humor, and smiling through the whole ordeal. And yet they were the most efficient team of guys I’ve ever seen with ample evidence of a well-organized, well-trained moving "machine". Please extend my compliments to each and every one of them.
I will certainly recommend your company to any other lab here at Vanderbilt I hear about who is moving. Again, many, many thanks for all the hard work.
Linda W. Horton Lab Manager Richmond Lab 432 PRB Vanderbilt Dept. of Cancer Biology
Your company recently moved our laboratory and offices from one building to another on Vanderbilt Campus. We were very pleased with the service you provided: consultations, supplies and the packing/moving crews were excellent. In particular, Tony and his moving crew were great. They were efficient, careful and pleasant to work with. We were very happy to find ourselves moved into our new laboratory a half-day ahead of schedule, giving us plenty of time to unpack and set up. Our down-time was minimal thanks to everyone at Alexander’s. I would not hesitate to recommend your services to other prospective clients, and would be glad to provide a reference at your request. Thanks again for a job very well done.
Sincerely yours, Susan Meyn Laboratory Manager Vanderbilt Center for Structural Biology
The Program in Human Genetics at Vanderbilt used the services of Alexander’s Moving and Storage Company to pack and move the Laboratory. I highly recommend this moving company for the overall perfect service and for the qualified, professional, and friendly personnel they are employing.
Sincerely, Nathalie C. Schnetz-Boutaud, Ph.D. Molecular Physiology & Biophysics Program in Human Genetics 519 Light Hall Vanderbilt University Medical Center Nashville, TN 37232-0700
We have had occasions in the past two years to use your company for moving and storage of a variety of items, ranging from boxes of miscellaneous to very large lab equipment items. I want to remind you that each time there was a rush to get the job completed. Both myself and our lab manager, Mr. Jin Dai, were impressed with the time you took on the front end to meet with us and develop a plan which would allow quick and easy remove and storage of our lab equipment during the construction period. We were able to create a timetable which allowed these moves to run very smoothly and efficiently with absolutely no disruption to the other activities that continued during these times.
We very much appreciate your efforts on our behalf and look forward to working with you again in the future.
Sincerely, Kathie Williams Admin. Assistant III Psychopharmacology
Since December 2000, I have held the position of "Move Facilitator" in Space & Facilities. My responsibility is relocating Offices & Laboratories for the School of Medicine. I have had the opportunity to work with a number of moving companies. By way of bid process, I have come to count on Alexander’s Movers for the great majority of the moves I have been responsible for.
The respect & commitment Alexander’s has brought to the projects they have been involved with here at Vanderbilt has been excellent. Bill Shears has always been available and has gone out of the way to be sure that he & his crew provide quality service, no matter small or large out needs have been. They have been willing to work with us on scheduling and understand the unique needs of Vanderbilt Medical Center.
I would recommend Alexander's Mobility Services for any Relocation project, small or large, without hesitation.
Sincerely, Therese Holguin Davies Vanderbilt Medical Center Space & Facilities Move Facilitator MCN A-0201 615-322-4805
Project Manager MRB-3 Space and Facilities Planning Subject: Alexander's Mobility Services Importance: High I wanted to share my Alexander’s moving experience with you, since they were low bidder on the Biological Sciences/MRBill project. The Alexander’s representative that spearheaded this process was Bill Shears. Bill Shears and Alexander’s Moving has done an excellent job. They have been consistently ahead of schedule and as of today and still under budget. With the bulk of the moves now complete, it appears the move costs will likely come in under budget.
I would not hesitate using them again on any project. Bobby
The system set up by you and your company to assist the professors and their lab personnel with step-by-step instructions on how to prepare for their move was extremely helpful and impressive. Not enough can be said about your crew. They were cooperative, accommodating and supportive under, what may be considered extreme conditions. For five days, in searing heat, both outside and inside a non-air-conditioned building, they never allowed anyone to see their discomfort and always had time to say hello with a smile and to discuss potential problems. To say that you have a good crew is an understatement.
I am appreciative for all you’ve done. I cannot thank you enough. In the future, if I am asked to recommend a moving company, yours will be first on my list.
Sincerely, Frank Gaglione
I wanted to let you know that your company, Alexander’s, has done and is continuing to do an excellent job moving our department into the new MRB III/Biological Sciences Building.
Sincerely, William F. Storey Administrative Officer Department of Biological Sciences
I am writing to thank you for your incredibly conscientious effort in moving our laboratories and offices from the Robinson Research Building to Medical Research Building III during the week of September 8th. The move could have been overwhelming, but with your careful planning, extraordinary attention to detail and excellent follow-through, everything ended up where it should go, nothing was damaged, all of our equipment is in excellent working order. I really appreciated your extra efforts in devising careful ways to move our instruments, having a Plan B and Plan C was very comforting and turned out to be worth the extra planning. Your showing up on Saturday to check our things one final time was unexpected and tremendously thoughtful; you made sure we would have all the tools we needed to make a successful move and you did and it was and we thank you! Your crews were fabulous. I know you had your best guys on this move and I have to tell you that it was really a pleasure working with them. They were respectful, careful, diligent and productive. They were very patient also, a move like this is never easy and a lot of nerves can come undone when the pressure is on, but they are professionals and never pushed or pulled us in a direction that wasn’t right for us to go. If I ever know of someone who has to move their home, office of any precious cargo, I know I would recommend you and your guys unconditionally.
Thank you again for all your efforts in helping us make this transition as smooth as possible.
Best regards, Maureen Casey Administrative Office Mass Spectrometry Research Center
I want to thank you for all your efforts in making the move of the Mass Spectrometry Research Center such a success. As we approached the move date, we had many options regarding the way we would move this delicate equipment and I am grateful to you for your ideas, your execution of the plans and for overseeing the transportation of the instruments. You gave a lot of careful thought to the tools and materials we would require to make the move and you provided everything we could need to make it happen, including your moving team! I really enjoyed working with all of you before and during the move. Everyone on your crews was very professional, careful and extremely helpful; these are some very industrious guys. I would definitely recommend you and your team to anyone who has to make a move, whether it’s their home or office.
Thanks again Bill, it was a pleasure working with you.
Sincerely yours, Richard M. Caprioli Director, Mass Spectrometry Research Center |
