Nashville, TN. — Alexander’s Mobility Services is proud to announce the addition of Ted Erickson to its Nashville, Tennessee sales team.
With fifteen years’ experience in the moving industry, Ted Erickson has joined the Alexander’s team to expand household national account business in the South Eastern region of the US.
Ted is transitioning from an independent van line headquartered on the East Coast where he managed accounts for eight states in the Southeastern Region of the US. Prior to that role, Ted was a member of the Atlas family, pursuing COD and National Account business for a fellow Atlas multi-agency.
With a strong background in COD business, Ted takes a quality-oriented, personal approach to managing his national business that extends from the account level to the individual transferee. “When a move isn’t going well for a transferee, I feel responsible. I try to fix it.” It is this focus on quality and performance that drew him to the Alexander’s name. “Alexander’s has a strong reputation for quality… It’s exciting to be here.”
Over the years, Ted has learned the importance of client satisfaction and recognizes that often a small gesture can make a big difference. “I’d go to homes for routine QC Inspections (quality control inspections) and take pictures of the home and our crew as they worked. When a move was going well I’d get the transferees and the crew to pose together, then I’d send the pictures to the client. They really appreciated that. You’ve got to make [the client] happy. “
The former president of the Metropolitan Atlanta Relocation Council (MARC) and member of numerous other industry-related organizations including the Southeastern Relocation Council, Tennessee Relocation Council, and the World Wide ERC, Ted understands that educating his clients about the moving industry is one of his biggest responsibilities, “Sometimes we (movers) use terms and lingo that makes sense to us, but it may mean something completely different to clients. It is our job to make it all make sense.”
Ted offers his clients not only the services and information they need, he also gives them the extra information they want by offering advice for building a relocation program, answering questions, and connecting clients to outside resources when needed.
Ted stresses that relationships lie at the heart of the moving industry and that clients often need impartial input when making decisions. “I want my clients to know they can rely on me and that I’m a tool for them. I’m not just selling them something; I’m here to help.”
