Mr. Honza joined the Alexander’s family as the Minneapolis office’s general manager in 1998. Prior to coming to Alexander’s Mr. Honza served as an assistant general manager and vice president of sales for another moving company in the Minneapolis area. From the time Mr. Honza joined Alexander’s he worked diligently to encourage each member of his team, instilling the whatever it takes attitude for which Alexander’s is known. Since joining Alexander’s Mr. Honza has grown the Minneapolis office in terms of revenue and quality, helping the office obtain its position as a perennial Milton M. Hill Quality award winner. He has guided the Minneapolis team through economic growth, a crippling recession, numerous office renovations which ultimately resulted in a full office move, as well as the personal ups and downs of his team. “Mr. Honza has been like a father to all of us here and I am going to miss him,” remarked Amy McClintock, a member of Minneapolis’ customer service team.

In his office, Mr. Honza has built a team of people who are as passionate about and committed to serving Alexander’s customers and each other. “[One of my] favorite things about working for Alexander’s was watching the development, growth, and success or many of the people [in my office]”

Whether it’s fundraising to help an employee or raising money for the Make-a-Wish foundation of Minnesota, the Minneapolis team reflects Mr. Honza’s dedication to his team as well as his generous nature. “He always made me feel so welcome and always went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of,” vice president of operations, Dave Cook recalled of Mr. Honza.

While Mr. Honza ‘s leadership and dedication to his team have certainly set him apart from other members of the Alexander’s family, the pride that he took in his work and in his company have truly set him apart from others within the moving industry. “[I have loved] being a part of an organization driven to provide quality service, that has the reputation for providing that high quality of service that Alexander’s has.” During his retirement Mr. Honza plans to relax and spend some quality time with his bride Sandy and the rest of his family and friends. While we know that Minneapolis’ new general manager, Kevin Quagliano will be a wonderful change, we at Alexander’s will all miss Mr. Dick Honza.

So, Mr. Honza, we at Alexander’s would like to extend our appreciation for all of your years of hard work by borrowing one of your more famous quotes, “Thank you. Have a good day and God bless America.”
